On Sunday 26th November at 5.00pm, thousands of people gathered on Scarborough’s foreshore to watch the Christmas Light Switch-On ceremony performed by Emmerdale stars Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle) and Dominic Brunt (Paddy Kirk) followed by a spectacular firework display. Yorkshire Coast Radio kept the crowds entertained whilst their mobile studio became the stage for the switch on.

The event was made possible by Scarborough Chamber of Trade in partnership with private and public sector organisations and individuals including McCain Foods GB Ltd, Scarborough Hospitality Association, South Bay Traders Association, Scarborough Borough Council, North Yorkshire County Council and local theatres.
