Scarborough & District Chamber of Trade Commerce is a member-led organisation dedicated to supporting businesses in the Scarborough area.

Our members represent a unique cross section of the Scarborough business community, each bringing their own expertise. They range from large corporate organisations and established firms to smaller independent traders and businesses that are just starting up.

The Chamber encourages support and networking amongst businesses and professional men and women.

There are regular monthly meetings giving you the opportunity to meet with like-minded businesses in an informal setting to discuss local issues and the new developments within Scarborough and its surrounding areas.

Scarborough is in the midst of an exciting renaissance and regeneration period. Membership of the Chamber enables you to be a part of this flourishing business community.

Brief History of Scarborough Chamber of Trade

Scarborough & District Chamber of Trade & Commerce was established in 1933 and is the town’s leading independent business organisation.

The Chamber gives local businesses a voice in local affairs; it is consulted on a wide range of issues and represents the views of the business community on these.

The Chamber both promotes and protects members’ interests and the monthly newsletter keeps all members up to date.

Over the years the Chamber has been involved in many exciting projects that have helped improve and promote our wonderful town. These have included:

Closed circuit television in the town centre
Scarborough Anti-theft Group
Town Centre Management
Shopmobility
Competitions throughout the town
Christmas window decoration competition
Annual Shopping, Attractions and Events Guide
