This is Scarborough’s Project proposal for the Mayor’s Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund.

Dear Mr Mayor,

Representing Scarborough Chamber of Trade, I’m endorsing This is Scarborough’s Project proposal for the Mayor’s Vibrant and Sustainable High Streets Fund. Their project to deliver innovative data-backed place-making promotional campaigns to help our market town better promote itself and thrive went down well with our members in a recent open session. Their team is established and talented.

Their recent success with detailed data research and delivery in areas such as:

– overview of footfall,

– visitor numbers,

– demographics of residents and visitors,

– crime rates,

– water quality and more, shows that

This is Scarborough and town businesses can produce and leverage data skills for effective brand promotion. Reference examples below show the range.

One of the team’s top priorities will assist making even more effective the town’s on and off-line advertising of all-weather heritage and retail trails that have proved so successful for Scarborough businesses in recent years.

On the March 4 2025 Market Towns: Cultural Heritage debate in Parliament, debate lead Bayo Alaba MP commented (Alison Hume MP also spoke): ‘

Boosting tourism to every region will fundamentally improve living standards by bringing growth to local economies, jobs, and an increased sense of place and diversity to high streets and town centres.’

Mixing This Is Scarborough’s project proposal and the group’s skills and expertise with our town businesses’ enthusiasm to profitably promote Scarborough’s heritage is the way to deliver this boost. Please support This is Scarborough’s Project proposal.

Yours sincerely CG COT
